Kinda cute, and has a real nice rhythm. Are you really the author?

I can only partially identify with the sentiments expressed. For a couple of summers, I drove a cab in St.Louis, MO while going to college; and I bought a pair of French leather sandals to wear especially for the job: the most comfortable foot-wear I’ve ever owned.

Well, my employer first complained that he didn’t think it was proper for me to not wear socks; so, I started wearing socks.

The next summer – same employer, same sandals worn – for the first couple of months everything was fine. But then one day he came by where I was parked on the cab line at the airport, and told me I couldn’t wear the sandals anymore: period.

Sad story, but I wore them at all other times until they finally just wore out. Tried to find another pair, but never could. As I said, most comfortable foot-wear I ever had.
